Vitali Dets (b. 1981) is a Ukrainian artist who has invented his own method of fast learning.
Since childhood, he has always found the most efficient way to learn new things.
Vitali taught his first painting class when he was only eight years old and his passion for learning and sharing his knowledge and skills with others hasn’t left him since.
He was the first artist to create master-classes in oil painting (1 painting - 1 master class) in Ukraine in 2005. Since then, more than 8000 aspiring artists have created their paintings within one day in his studio. He was also a finalist in the 2014 Ten Young Outstanding People of Ukraine competition due to his achievements and the fast learning method that he had developed.
Vitali believes that we already know everything but have forgotten it. A lot of artists followed his "painting within one day" trend and formed their own studios applying his method of teaching. More than 1 million people started using his method of teaching in Ukraine.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t make master classes for more than 150 people per month because of the distance and lack of time. His desire to share his knowledge with a bigger audience led him to start the Insparea project.
Meeting Andrej Gerasimiuk - a talented watercolorist with a great experience.
Vitali and Andrej met in 2014. Vitali took a lot of lessons from Andrej to develop his skills in watercolor. He learned very fast by applying his fast learning method.
The idea of the book
In 2015, Vitali had an idea to share his skills with others by creating step-by-step lessons with printed sketches on watercolor paper. He started experimenting with different types of paper, colors, etc. Finally, he found out a fast and efficient method of sharing professional skills with beginners. He created his first book "Watercolor trip to Italy". It became a unique tutorial artbook. Vitali visited the world's largest trade fair for books "Frankfurt Book Fair" and found out that he was the first to create this kind of book. He got inspired and registered the name of the brand INSPAREA (Inspiration Area).
The mission of Insparea (Inspiration Area)
Our mission is to inspire and motivate people to think creatively by showing them the simplicity of the art process. The idea of the book is to awaken the artist in everybody. The book shows how everyone can learn painting very fast in a few steps. Authors share their professional knowledge and secrets in watercolor painting in form of interactive step-by-step lessons.
The first book "Watercolor trip to Italy"
Vitali and Andrej traveled to Italy more than 5 times to gather all the necessary materials (sketches, photos, etc.). They have selected the best scenery to represent the most authentic spirit of the country. Then, it took them 5 months to create 40 watercolor sketches among which they chose 20 of the best to include in the book. Once they prepared detailed instructions with descriptions of colors and techniques they created their first book. Sales started in November 2016. Since that time, more than 20000 books have been sold all over the world.
The books were received with a lot of positive feedback. People from many different countries have shown their interest so the book was launched in 4 different languages
The second book "Watercolor trip to France"
In may 2017 they started preparing a new book "Watercolor trip to France" while traveling in Provence. It took them 4 months of work and the book appeared on Etsy in March 2018.
The third book is coming soon!
At this given moment they are working on a new book "Watercolor trip to Spain".
Vitali hopes that their books will spread their knowledge in professional watercolor painting all over the world.
